Copyright Claims

Last updated

We take copyright seriously and act on properly made claims. This page explains what this site actually does with video, which matters for deciding where a claim should go, and what a claim needs to contain.

What this site holds

ytmp3 hosts no video. It has no library, no catalogue and no search: nothing exists on this site until someone pastes the address of a video they already found elsewhere.

When they do, the address is handed to a third-party conversion service, which produces a file on demand and serves it from its own systems. Nothing is stored here afterwards, so there is no copy on this site for us to take down.

That is worth saying plainly because it affects where a claim is most effective. A notice sent to us is acted on as set out below; a notice sent to the platform actually hosting the video removes it at the source. Anything that is not a claim belongs on the contact page instead.

Sending a notice

Send claims to support@libertycafe.pl with "Copyright claim" in the subject line. So that we can act on it, please include all of the following.

One: identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed. Two: the specific material or address you are complaining about, in enough detail that it can be located. Three: your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.

Four: a statement that you believe in good faith that the use complained of is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law. Five: a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf. Six: your physical or electronic signature.

A notice missing these elements may not be actionable, and we may come back to you for what is missing rather than act on an incomplete claim.

What we do next

Valid notices are acted on promptly. Where there is anything on our systems within the scope of the claim we remove or disable it, and where the material sits with the conversion service or the original platform we pass the notice on and tell you that we have.

We also block addresses from being converted where a claim makes that the right response.

If you think a claim was wrong

If something of yours was removed and you believe the claim was mistaken or misdirected, write to the same address with your name and contact details, identification of what was removed, and a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed as the result of a mistake or misidentification. We will consider it and respond.

Repeat infringers

Where it is within our power to do so, access is withdrawn from anyone who repeatedly uses the service to infringe.
